Today has to be another first, I will be prepaing Fairtrade Food outside my Newport Store, on the pavement for the benefit of the cameras. I am making a dvd of my project and the local press have also come along to take pictures, which I hope will be in the local paper in the near future. They seem very interested in this worthwhile project about my ambitious project to raise 1 millioneuorsin 90days through sponsorship. The dishes I prepared were dessert ideas, including Pan fried Fairtrade bananas, in butter, with Fairtrade Ben & Jerry's Vanilla Ice Cream and Fairtrade Homemade Chocolate sauce. The film we took of this will soon be on this site for you to see in all its glory.I also made a Fairtrade Fruit Salad with a sprinkerling of Fairtrade nuts and raisins. Finally the other dish was homemade crepes filled with Fairtrade Strawberry Jam, and a dusting of Fairtrade icing sugar, made from granulated sugar, put in the blender.

Lots of people came to watch me, and I was so wrapped up in the film work and getting the dishes right, I did not think about getting worried about the onlookers. After that I went to the Riverside, where the Isle of Wight Footprint Trust had a exhibition about enviromental issues and various things you can do to help the enviroment in our day to day activities. There will be more about this show in a couple of weeks when I show you me new dvd on this site.
