I am staying in Antibes about 10 miles from NICE in the South of France. I have been looking for any outlet that might be connected to a simular scheme of Fairtrade like we have in the UK and US. Alas it seems they are few and far between, however there is some hope as it seems there is a real drive towards improving things regarding enviromental issues. Recycling containers are in all the car parks, buses are modern, cheap and fuel effiecient. I visited a Yves Rocher shop this afternoon and was told about their ethos. In fact for some years they have been trying to offer a fairer alternative. The Yves Rocher Foundation works towards helping in all four corners of the world. Trying to find alternative to help stop tyhe extinction of plants, animals and various habitats. Some of the countires that are benefiting include, Madagascar,Bhoutan,Equador and Amazonia.
